Twenty Rows 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Serenity brought home and tasted the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Twenty Rows in Napa Valley. It’s a well-done expression of the varietal. We found black fruit, currants, and cocoa powder on the nose. The wine opens up well; on the palate, we found black cherry, coffee beans, fig, and a touch of clove on the finish. The 2022 features a full body, velvety tannins, and well-balanced acid. It’s juicy without being jammy and has a beautiful finish without being too drying on the palate. At $29 it’s a great value Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Twenty Rows was created by Brian Nuss and his partner and friend Jason Trulby. Together, their mission is to “share the simple and pure beauty of varietal wines that soar with flavor and texture.” They want the grapes to tell their own stories that reflect the character of the varietal and the terroir. The name of the vineyard pays homage to the twenty rows of vines Brian and Jason worked tirelessly to cultivate their signature style with layers and nuance. They work their lots with minimal handling, and they blend grapes from multiple small lots which they believe gives their wines balance integrated with complexity and grace.

This 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a perfect companion to any red meat dish, particularly brisket or steak. The fruit is sourced from the best blocks of their Napa Valley vineyards. It’s rich and nuanced, a classic example of a Napa Valley Cabernet.
