Baby Blue blanc blue rock

Welcome back to the Weekend Wine Down! Today, Serenity brought in the lovely Baby Blue Blanc from Blue Rock Vineyard for us to taste this week. Blue Rock was established in 1987, located in Alexander Valley, California. This Bordeaux style Blanc sees natural French oak and stainless steel giving it very light oak notes. This bottle is best served at cellar temperature (55°F-58°F) and is ready to age 4-7 years.

Give it a little time after opening and Baby Blue develops nicely, it has a pithy, gooseberry note when first opened which dissipates and allows the stone fruit, peach, and orange blossom notes to sing. You can expect medium intensity, high acid, and a long finish with tropical notes of juicy mango and ripe pineapple. Baby Blue has a pale straw color and you’ll find bright, fresh, tart green apple on the nose. The 2023 vintage has a mixture of 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 16% Semillon, and 9% Viognier. Pick up your own bottle for $30 here in the shop. We’d love to hear your thoughts about the Baby Blue Blanc from Blue Rock.
